Amorgos Island, Greece
Known for its rugged cliffs, clear Aegean waters, aromatic herbs, and winding “blue trails,” Amorgos has long been a place people visit to revive and restore. The island is also tied to the myth of Ulysses, who was said to have been entranced by the goddess Kirki here on his journey home, adding to its timeless and otherworldly atmosphere.
Inspired by the feeling of late summer—that point when the days are still warm and expansive, but a seasonal shift is beginning to emerge—this retreat explores themes of presence, slowing down, and moving into fall with greater intention and self-nourishment. Long swims, shared meals, golden evening light, and deep, intentional practice all become part of the rhythm of the week.
Our days will be anchored by twice daily yoga, balanced with time to hike ancient trails, swim in the sea, sail the coastline, and explore nearby villages. This retreat offers space to pause, reset, and reconnect with yourself and what feels most important moving forward toward the season ahead.
Twice Daily Yoga
Bask in the energy of summer with dynamic morning practices and flirt with the fall energy of yin in chill evening practices.
Sailing Day on the Aegean
Spend a day on the Cycladic waters swimming, relaxing, and experiencing the coastline of Amorgos from the sea.
Island Exploration
Enjoy time to wander whitewashed villages, hike the famous trails of Amorgos, discover hidden coves, or visit the iconic Monastery of Hozoviotissa built into the cliffs above the sea.
Spa + Wellness
A delightful 30min relaxing massage is included in this retreat. You will also have full access to the Lalon Idor Spa facilities including a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, indoor seawater pool. It is heavenly!
This retreat is about creating space to reconnect.
Practice with intention. Spend time by the sea. Embrace the simplicity of Greek island life.
Our home for the week is Aegialis Hotel & Spa, a family-owned wellness retreat perched above Aegiali Bay on the quieter northern side of Amorgos.
Built into the hillside with sweeping views of the Aegean and surrounding mountains, the property feels both expansive and grounded—deeply connected to the nature that surrounds the island.
The hotel blends traditional Cycladic architecture with understated comfort: whitewashed walls, stone pathways, shaded terraces, and airy rooms that open toward the sea.
Guests will have access to the renowned Lalon Idor Spa, one of the largest thalassotherapy spas in the Cyclades, featuring a seawater indoor pool, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, fitness center, and treatment spaces overlooking the bay.
The experience of staying here extends beyond the rooms themselves. Mornings begin with views of the sea and surrounding cliffs, meals are rooted in fresh Mediterranean flavors and local hospitality, and the vibe of the property naturally encourages slowing down. It’s the kind of place that supports a transformative experience without feeling removed from the character and simplicity that make Amorgos so special.
The Superior Cycladic Rooms blend modern comfort with clean, minimal Cycladic design, creating rooms that feel both refined and relaxed.
Thoughtful details, luxury bedding, and soft natural tones make the rooms especially supportive of deep rest and slower living throughout the week. Each room includes a private balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea, offering the perfect place to begin the morning quietly or unwind after a full day on the island.
Our practices will take place across several beautifully designed yoga shalas, each thoughtfully created to support a sense of connection to the natural surroundings.
Overlooking the Aegean Sea and the mountainous landscape of Amorgos, the shalas are filled with a quiet, calming energy.
From open-air rooftops for sunrise sessions to polished wood studios with panoramic sea views, each studio offers their own special dynamic. High-quality props including mats, bolsters, blankets, straps, and blocks are all provided, allowing you to travel lightly and fully settle into practice.

As the light softens over the sea, the simplicity of island life begins to settle in.
September 13
Our first full day begins with practice overlooking the Aegean before a relaxed breakfast together. The afternoon is open to ease into our surroundings slowly — spend time swimming in the clear waters below Aegiali, relax at the spa, or wander through the nearby village cafés and shops. We’ll come back together in the evening to unwind and share dinner as the sun sets over the bay.
September 14
The morning begins with practice and breakfast before another spacious day on the island. This is a beautiful day to hike one of Amorgos’ famous coastal trails and take in the dramatic cliffs and expansive sea views that make the island so special. Evening brings a softer practice designed to help you drop further into chill mode before dinner together.
September 15
After a grounding morning and breakfast overlooking the water, the day is yours to move through slowly. This is a great time to schedule your included 30-minute massage at the spa, enjoy the wellness facilities, or settle in with a long afternoon at one of many stunning beaches on Amorgos, like Agia Anna, Mouros, Maltezi, and then some! We’ll gather again in the evening for a slower session and another shared meal together.
September 16
The day begins with movement and breathwork followed by breakfast. In the afternoon, you may want to visit the iconic Monastery of Hozoviotissa built dramatically into the cliffs above the sea, or experience a more traditional side of Amorgos with a visit to an old Cycladic home in the village of Tholaria. A stop at a local distillery is another beautiful way to experience the culture and flavors of the island before regrouping for evening practice and dinner.
September 17
Today features our included sailing day along the coast of Amorgos. After yoga and breakfast, we’ll depart from the hotel by mini-bus to the dock at Agios Pavlos, where the captain and crew will welcome us aboard a beautiful 12-meter sailing vessel equipped with sunbeds, a dining area, cabin, and onboard bathroom. Throughout the day, we’ll explore hidden beaches and coves only accessible by boat, swim in the crystal-clear Aegean waters, and enjoy time to snorkel or paddle board directly from the boat. Returning to shore in the late afternoon, there will be time to settle back into the retreat and enjoy dinner together overlooking the bay.
September 18
Our final full day together begins with morning practice and breakfast before free time to enjoy the island however you’d like. Revisit a favorite beach, spend the afternoon wandering through villages, or enjoy one last swim in the Aegean before our closing gathering and final dinner together.

Hi, I am Willis!
Since a very young age, Willis has been drawn to movement — the freedom, joy, and sense of peace it offers.
He began dancing at 10, earned a BFA in Dance Performance from SMU, and went on to perform professionally in New York City and Las Vegas with the Metropolitan Opera, The Chase Brock Experience, and Cirque du Soleil.
He found yoga in 2009 while navigating the demands of a professional dance career, and it was a game changer. In 2014, following the passing of his beloved mother, he left his dance career and dove heart first into teaching — completing his 200-hour training with Anna Laurita, his 300-hour with Noah Mazé, and later studying Katonah Yoga under Nevine Michaan and Abbie Galvin. He now serves as a mentor with the Katonah Yoga Center.
In 2022, he founded Flying Heart Yoga in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, which is a space dedicated to communal practice, education, and self-cultivation. He leads classes, workshops, and retreats internationally, and is the founder of Flying Heart Retreats.
Willis believes yoga offers a powerful opportunity to inhabit the body, mediate our circumstances, and expand into our full potential. His classes are grounding and exploratory, rooted in breath, meditation, and thoughtful movement — held in a space that welcomes curiosity, depth, and self-discovery.
